THREE MO’ TENORS

By Martin Lenon

TENORS are pouring out of the woodwork. With the emergence of G4, Il Divo and now Three Mo’ Tenors, audiences may be forgiven for expecting TV programmes like I’m A Tenor, Get Me Out Of Here! or America’s Next Top Tenor to begin airing any minute now.

While the other two groups have added pop tunes to their classical repertoire, Three Mo’, as they refer to themselves, have gone a stage further and added a little gospel, soul and blues.

The show – slick, stylish and sophisticated – got off to a great start with the three establishing their very worthy credentials with Verdi’s La Donna È Mobile.

But these cool cats, highly trained as they were, clearly loved the soul classics as much as the other kind. The audience roared their approval, as audiences are likely to do for Three Mo’ for a long time to come.
